Green marketing refers to the practice of developing and advertising products based on their real or perceived environmental sustainability. A special focus will be devoted to greenwashing, i.e. company claims about its alleged positive environmental endeavors not supported by actual evidence or showing inconsistencies among sustainability issues, thus misleading the public.
Green marketing relies on Green communication, a new communication model based on the relevance given to environmental sustainability which highlights efforts made by a company towards sustainability in order to positively impress consumers and reinforce these latters’ propensity towards sustainable consumption models.
